Mama Afibaa Agbovi V, Queen Mother of Dorfor Podoe Amanfrom, has called for a strong union among Queen Mothers to help their chiefs drive development in Dorfor and its surrounding communities.

Addressing a gathering of Queen Mothers, Mama Agbovi said the main goal of forming the union is to establish a factory that will generate revenue, boost development, and create employment opportunities for the youth.

Appeal for youth support
The Queen Mother appealed to NGOs and individuals to support skill training programmes for young people in Dorfor, with special focus on young ladies.

She also urged parents to take full responsibility for their wards to help reduce school dropouts, teenage intimacy, and drug abuse among the youth.

Role of Queen Mothers
Mama Agbovi emphasized that Queen Mothers play a vital role in mobilizing women, youth, and the entire community to support education, health, sanitation, and other development initiatives.

Call for unity
She further called on all Queen Mothers to “come together as one and work towards the progress of Dorfor, Tongu, and the Volta Region as a whole.”

Meeting agenda
Participants are expected to deliberate on leadership, conflict resolution, advocacy, and how traditional authorities can partner with government and NGOs to drive development at the local level.

The meeting marks a renewed push by traditional female leaders to take a central role in grassroots development in the Volta Region.
