ACCRA, Ghana – Two individuals have been granted bail after being arrested and arraigned for allegedly circulating a video purported to contain a conversation involving President John Dramani Mahama and the National Security Coordinator mentioning “GH¢150 million”.

The accused persons are Issaka Yahaya of _Nsem Fie TV_ and Godfred Ansu Damoah.

They appeared before the Kotobabi Circuit Court and were charged with conspiracy to publish false information over the reposting and circulation of the video.

Court Grants GH¢30,000 Bail Each
The court granted each of the accused persons bail in the sum of GH¢30,000 with two sureties.

The case has drawn attention to concerns around misinformation and the responsibility of content creators to verify information before publishing.
