Kofi Adu, known as ‘Mbaa Nyɛ’, a carpenter, has been accused of setting fire to his girlfriend’s residence, resulting in the destruction of all her possessions in Manso Mpatoum.
He asserts that the woman expended GH¢2 billion of his funds, which he claims to have earned through illegal mining activities, prior to the termination of their relationship.
Adu allegedly perpetrated this act following a period of financial hardship. He stated that his funds were depleted and securing employment had become increasingly challenging, which he believes contributed to the woman’s decision to end their relationship.
This raises the question: why invest such a substantial amount in a woman who is not legally your spouse?
