Sayerano Police Shooting: One More Victim Dies as DCE Extends Condolences to Bereaved Families
The death toll from the police shooting incident in Sefwi Sayerano, located in the Juaboso District of the Western North Region, has increased to three following the passing of one of the injured victims while receiving medical treatment.
The deceased was among several residents who sustained gunshot wounds during a confrontation with personnel from the Sefwi Wiawso Divisional Police Command, who reportedly arrived in the community to apprehend a suspected drug peddler.
Two residents lost their lives at the scene, while others sustained injuries.
This latest development has intensified grief within the community, as residents mourn the loss of another life and reiterate their calls for a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
The Juaboso District Chief Executive, Alexander Adu Quist, has visited the bereaved families and injured victims to convey the government’s condolences.
He characterized the incident as tragic and assured residents that the government is committed to ensuring justice is served.
Adu Quist urged the families to remain composed and allow the ongoing investigations to proceed, while also praying for the swift recovery of those still undergoing treatment.
Furthermore, the district chief executive called for tranquility within the community to facilitate the police’s necessary investigative efforts.
