Torrential rains that have affected the Greater Accra Region for several hours have resulted in significant flooding throughout the capital, leading to the tragic loss of two lives in Alajo and leaving thousands of residents stranded in inundated communities.
The deceased, identified as 25-year-old Michelle Ofori Tachie and a companion, were reportedly electrocuted during the flooding in Alajo, one of the areas most severely impacted by the disaster.
The National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) has confirmed the fatalities, while emergency responders are actively assessing the extent of the damage caused by the floods.
