From June 20 to June 26, 2026, the North Tongu District Chief Executive, Hon. Victoria Amefadze, participated in a high-level delegation from Ghana that traveled to Japan for final discussions with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) concerning funding for the proposed Volivo–Dorfor Adidome Bridge Project. The delegation also sought additional funding opportunities for the Battor–Mepe–Dove Road Project, both of which are transformative infrastructure initiatives anticipated to enhance connectivity, promote trade, and accelerate socio-economic development within North Tongu and neighboring communities.
The delegation was led by the Minister for Roads and Highways, Hon. Governs Kwame Agbodza, Member of Parliament for Adaklu, and included officials from the Ministry of Roads and Highways, the Department of Roads and Highways, the Embassy of Ghana in Japan, as well as representatives from JICA Ghana and JICA Japan, along with traditional leaders.
Hon. Amefadze extends her profound gratitude to H.E. John Dramani Mahama, the Minister for Roads and Highways, Hon. Governs Kwame Agbodza, and our Member of Parliament and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, for their steadfast commitment to advancing these essential infrastructure projects. There is optimism that these engagements will facilitate the successful realization of these landmark developments for the benefit of our constituents.
