VOLTA REGION LAUNCHES TREE FOR LIFE PROJECT

The Volta Regional Coordinating Council, led by the Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu, has launched this year’s Tree for Life Project at Taviefe Senior High School with a tree planting exercise aimed at promoting environmental sustainability and combating climate change.
Speaking at the event, Hon. James Gunu described tree planting as a shared responsibility needed to protect the environment for future generations. He urged the public to make tree planting and environmental care part of their daily lives.
Under the initiative, the Volta Region is expected to plant 300,000 tree seedlings to support the national target of planting 30 million seedlings across the country.
The programme was attended by the Ho Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Stephen Adom, the Chief Director of the Volta Regional Coordinating Council, Alhaji Mohammed Avona Akape, the Regional Forestry Manager, Mr. Henry K. Kudiabor, and other stakeholders.
