Interior Minister Mr Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak has described the Volta Region as one of the most peaceful regions in Ghana.
Speaking during an engagement with Christian and Muslim leaders in Ho on Monday as part of his two-day working visit, he attributed the region’s peace to strong collaboration among religious leaders, traditional authorities, security agencies and residents.
The Minister commended the cordial relationship between Christian and Muslim communities in Volta, calling it exemplary and noting their unity and mutual respect unlike some parts of the country.
He disclosed that although Volta has about 12 identified conflict hotspots, it still ranks among the regions with the lowest levels of conflict nationwide based on the Ministry’s hotspot assessment system.
Mr Muntaka also paid tribute to religious leaders for their prayers and moral guidance, saying they contributed significantly to national stability.
