On Thursday, 28th May 2026, Hon. Victoria joined the Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu, my colleague MMDCEs, heads of institutions, queen mothers and other dignitaries at St. Catherine Senior High School, Agbakofe, in the South Tongu District for the 2026 World Menstrual Hygiene Day celebration. The event was held on behalf of the Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E. Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyeman.

The programme featured the distribution of sanitary pads to vulnerable schools and institutions across the Volta Region as part of efforts to combat period poverty and promote menstrual hygiene among girls. The initiative reinforces Government’s commitment to ensuring that no girl is denied education due to lack of access to menstrual hygiene products.

She commend H.E. John Dramani Mahama, H.E. Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyeman, our Member of Parliament and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the Volta Regional Minister, the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection, the Volta Regional Minister and all stakeholders for championing this important cause. Together, we must continue to support initiatives that promote the health, dignity, confidence and educational success of the girl child.

Hon. Victoria Amefadzi Yawa Doe
