The District Chief Executive of South Tongu honor of hosting the Volta Regional celebration of the 2026 World Menstrual Hygiene Day at the St. Catherine Senior High School in Agbakope. She Held this event on behalf of the Vice President, Her Excellency Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, the event brought together colleague MMDCES from across the region, heads of institutions, revered Queen Mothers, and various dignitaries to support the distribution of sanitary pads to vulnerable schools and institutions across the Volta Region.
During the program, she found it necessary to share a piece of her own journey with the young ladies present, opening up about the challenges she faced during her school days to remind them that difficulties during their educational pursuit should never define their future. Menstruation is a completely natural phenomenon, and she also encouraged all the girls to embrace this phase of life with confidence, while strictly prioritizing personal hygiene and maintaining environmental cleanliness in their schools and communities
The Honorable Member express her profound gratitude to the Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu for choosing our district to host this year’s regional celebration, which greatly facilitated the efficient allocation of these essential sanitary products to the girls who need them most.
She said, as a government, they remain fiercely committed to ensuring that no girl misses school or loses her confidence due to a lack of access to sanitary products, because menstrual hygiene is a matter of basic human dignity, health, and equal opportunity.
