The Mepe Development Association, in consultation with the Mepe Traditional Council, wishes to inform all citizens of Mepe and the general public that all social media platforms created in the name of the Mepe Development Association (MDA) must either be renamed by their current operators if they wish to continue managing them privately, or be deleted immediately.
This decision has become necessary following the establishment of newly created and permanent official MDA social media platforms linked to permanent association contact numbers. These platforms now serve as the only recognized and official communication channels and mouthpiece of the Association and the community.
Most of the old platforms were created using personal phone numbers and private accounts, making them difficult to access, manage, or officially transfer to new administrators over time. The Association has therefore taken this decision to permanently resolve issues relating to ownership, continuity, credibility, and official communication.
The Mepe Traditional Council is also advising all citizens who have created social media platforms in the name of Mepe to exercise responsibility in their content creation and publications. During festivals, cultural events, and other traditional activities, all bloggers, content creators, and platform operators are required to seek accreditation through the MDA before undertaking official media coverage.
Furthermore, the Mepe Traditional Council wishes to inform all citizens to cease the use of the official logos of the Traditional Council and the MDA on personal social media pages or private platforms henceforth, unless officially authorized.
Citizens of Mepe are encouraged to follow, like, comment on, and share activities from the official MDA platforms to help strengthen and grow the Association’s digital presence for the benefit of the entire community.
The Traditional Council and the MDA further wish to emphasize that only information published on the official MDA platforms should be regarded as authentic and official communication from the Association and the community.
