I commend our Member of Parliament and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, for the leadership and commitment he continues to demonstrate in protecting the welfare and interests of Ghanaians abroad, particularly in response to recent xenophobic-related concerns involving some Ghanaian nationals in South Africa.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs plays a critical role in ensuring the safety of Ghanaian citizens overseas through diplomatic engagement, consular support and coordination efforts aimed at safeguarding lives and promoting peaceful coexistence. I am particularly encouraged by the proactive steps being taken to monitor the situation and support affected Ghanaians where necessary.

As a district, we remain proud of Hon. Ablakwa’s dedication to national service and his commitment to defending the dignity and wellbeing of Ghanaians both at home and abroad.
