The National Secretariat of the District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP), led by National Coordinator Hon. Edwin Nii Lantey Vanderpuye, has held a stakeholder meeting with MDCEs, Municipal and District Co-ordinating Directors, and DRIP Coordinators in the Volta Region to address challenges confronting the programme.
Speaking at the meeting, the Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu, stressed the need for accountability, transparency and stronger collaboration between DRIP Coordinators and MDCEs to ensure the programme achieves its intended impact. He also emphasized the importance of proper maintenance of DRIP equipment.
Hon. Nii Lantey Vanderpuye urged coordinators and MDCEs to take the initiative seriously and warned against renting out DRIP equipment, stating that the machines are strictly for public road improvement works within the districts.
The meeting ended with an interactive session where participants engaged the National Coordinator on key concerns regarding the programme.
