The court ruled that police officers acted unlawfully through assault, unlawful detention, and interference with personal freedoms during the 2023 protest. The victims included Vanessa Edotom Boateng, whose phone was seized while recording alleged brutality, and George Gyening Anyang, who was reportedly beaten while livestreaming events.
The court also ordered the Police Service to pay GH¢30,000 in legal costs and publish an unqualified apology in the Daily Graphic newspaper.
