Retired military officer Michael Molley, popularly known as “Gago,” has made shocking allegations against former President John Agyekum Kufuor, claiming he was once instructed to assassinate former President Jerry John Rawlings and veteran journalist Kwesi Pratt.
Speaking in an interview on Kofi TV, Molley alleged that Kufuor asked him to eliminate Rawlings because he had become a nuisance and also wanted Kwesi Pratt killed over negative publications against him. Molley stated that he rejected the alleged requests, insisting he was not a murderer.
To back his claims, the retired officer reportedly swore on a Bible and challenged Kufuor to publicly deny the allegations under oath as well. He further declared that if he was lying, he should not make it home safely.
The allegations have triggered widespread reactions online, with some social media users arguing that hidden political secrets eventually come to light, while others questioned whether Molley possesses any evidence to support such serious accusations should the matter reach court.
Others also turned attention to Molley’s personal life, questioning why he had not achieved better living conditions despite his years in military service.
Meanwhile, Kwesi Pratt recently opened up about his relationship with the late Jerry Rawlings following his imprisonment during the revolutionary era. In an interview with Kafui Dey on March 24, 2026, Pratt disclosed that Rawlings repeatedly attempted to meet him through their mutual associate, Ralph Kessley-Hayford, though he initially declined.
According to Pratt, he eventually agreed to meet Rawlings after the 2001 political transition, and the discussion reportedly lasted nearly five hours. He said Rawlings denied personally ordering his arrest and detention, claiming some of Pratt’s associates had influenced the decision and that he could not ignore them as leader at the time.
Pratt added that later findings suggested the situation was more complicated than Rawlings had portrayed. He also noted that their meeting generated intense public debate, especially among supporters of Kufuor who were surprised he would engage Rawlings after years of political rivalry.
Pratt further revealed that Kufuor once offered to represent him in court during a legal battle, but he declined the offer because he believed the case was politically motivated and preferred to defend himself personally.
