The Road Plan on Paper Should Reflect on The Ground – Manklalo of Mepe, Torgbe Korsi Nego VI Speaks As The Chiefs and The People Agree To The Expansion of The Mepe Road.
Speaking at a town meeting, the Manklalo of Mepe, Torgbe Korsi Nego VI, who doubles as the Acting President of Mepe Traditional Council has confirmed that himself and his colleague Chiefs together with the people of the area have agreed and accepted that the road must be expanded.
According to him, how the road is represented on paper should be same in reality, thus on the ground. He added that the stakeholders will meet to discuss further.
He also cautions against disrespect on personalities, especially chiefs and queens of Mepe. He explained that if anyone hears anything about any leader, the first point of confirmation is the person in the picture, in order to avoid disrespecting chiefs and leaders of the area.
In other story, the chief has cautioned against validation of flood victims, which the chiefs’ group and the towns representative body, Mepe Development Association knew nothing about.
He said the town has its own data on the affected victims and therefore, validation by other entities without proper engagement could result in some flood victims getting lesser compensations than what they have lost to the flood caused by the uncontrolled spillage from Akosombo dam.
