The National Teaching Council (NTC) has warned that about 42,000 teachers in Ghana are currently unqualified or not properly licensed, urging them to regularise their status or face sanctions.
According to the report, the Council says teachers who fail to obtain the required professional licence may be barred from the classroom or face disciplinary action.
It stressed that teaching in Ghana is a regulated profession and only certified individuals are allowed to teach legally.
The NTC is therefore encouraging all affected teachers to get licensed immediately through the approved processes to avoid penalties and ensure compliance with national teaching standards.
