The Human Milk Bank at the University of Ghana Medical Centre has officially made a public appeal for lactating mothers with excess breast milk to donate it.
The goal is to support premature and vulnerable babies who cannot access enough or any breast milk from their biological mothers.
The milk bank is actively operating and receiving donor milk. The donated breast milk is screened, pasteurised, and safely stored before use and It is used to help newborns, especially preterm babies in hospitals across Ghana
