Director for Presidential Initiatives for Agriculture and Agribusiness Kofi Boamah Otokunor joined comrades and compatriots of the General Agricultural Workers Union (GAWU) to open the maiden GAWU Agricultural Expo 2026 at the forecourt of the TUC building the other day.
He expressed the government’s commitment to developing Ghana’s food system in a manner consistent with our agro-value chain development prospects and assured GAWU of the government’s continuous collaboration to strengthen the welfare of agricultural workers and provide opportunities for employment for the teeming agriculture college graduates.
He also expressed the need for establishing a Ghana Agriculture Services Authority under the Ministry of Food and Agriculture to serve as an implementing authority for government flagship agro-policies to help in efficient policy coordination and implementation.
