A Nigerian father has been arrested for allegedly flogging his two-year-old daughter with a cable wire for failing to greet him in the morning.
The incident reportedly occurred in Delta State, Nigeria, shortly after the family’s morning prayers.
According to the child’s mother, the father became violent after the toddler failed to greet him. He is alleged to have tied the little girl’s hands with wire before flogging her mercilessly with another cable wire.
The mother raised an alarm, leading to the arrest of the suspect by security authorities. The child is said to have sustained injuries and is receiving care.
Police have confirmed the arrest and say investigation is ongoing.
