An unidentified woman, estimated to be approximately 27 years of age, has been discovered deceased in a bush at Anyinamso No. 1 within the Atwima Mponua District of the Ashanti Region, leaving the local community in a state of shock and apprehension.
The body was found suspended from a rope tied to a tree amidst dense foliage. Residents believe that the remains had been at the site for approximately three days prior to the discovery.
In response to the incident, traditional authorities (Nananom), officials from the Environmental Health Department, and personnel from the Mpasatia Police Command oversaw the burial of the body in accordance with local health regulations and traditional customs.
The police have initiated an investigation to ascertain the identity of the deceased and to determine the precise cause and circumstances surrounding her death.
This incident has intensified anxiety within the community, prompting many residents to call for a comprehensive investigation into the mysterious circumstances of the death.
Furthermore, traditional authorities have urged the public, particularly families whose daughters have been reported missing in the past three days, to visit the palace for potential identification of the deceased. Relatives will be escorted to the burial site to aid in the identification process.
The Mpasatia Police Command has also requested that anyone possessing pertinent information come forward to assist investigators as efforts continue to clarify the circumstances surrounding this tragic event.
