The Borla Taxi and Tricycle Association has made an urgent appeal to President John Dramani Mahama, requesting the facilitation of private sector intervention due to the reported collapse of landfill sites in Accra.
The association has expressed that this situation has significantly disrupted waste disposal operations, leading to severe environmental and public health issues within the capital.
They have cautioned that, without prompt action, the accumulation of waste may further deteriorate sanitation conditions and negatively impact the livelihoods of workers in the waste management sector.
Consequently, the group is urging the government to collaborate with private enterprises to develop sustainable solutions and reinstate effective waste management services in Accra.
