The Madina Divisional Command has initiated a thorough investigation into a shooting incident involving the former Member of Parliament, Honorable Sarah Adwoa Safo, which transpired today in Kwabenya, located within the Accra Region.
According to an official statement released by Superintendent Ms. Juliana Obeng, Head of Public Affairs for the Accra Region, the incident occurred on Sunday, June 21, 2026.
Details of the Incident
Preliminary findings by the police reveal that Honorable Sarah Adwoa Safo sustained a gunshot wound to her left ear while visiting her late father’s residence in Kwabenya. She subsequently reported the incident to the local Kwabenya Police. Alongside her report, she provided a vehicle with registration number GN 3482-24, which exhibited visible and extensive gunshot damage.
Ongoing Forensic Investigation
The Ghana Police Service has confirmed that the victim has been issued a Police Medical Report Form and is currently receiving medical care for her injuries.
Meanwhile, operational units have secured the damaged vehicle, which is being held by law enforcement for a comprehensive forensic examination.
“Investigations are ongoing to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident and to identify all individuals involved,” stated Superintendent Obeng.
