The residents of Abutia and Juapong are earnestly requesting the construction of a durable and modern road, as opposed to another mere rehabilitation project. Furthermore, we wish for the project to be fully costed and executed with transparency.
This road was initially contracted out in 2015 but was subsequently abandoned following the passing of the late Hon. Dzifa Ativor. In 2025, the project was re-awarded with an anticipated completion timeline of two years. However, the current pace of work does not appear to align with this timeline, prompting concerns among the residents.
The people of Abutia and Juapong continue to endure hardship as a result of the road’s poor condition. As communities that have consistently contributed to the nation’s democratic process, we believe we are entitled to quality infrastructure and equal development opportunities.
We respectfully urge the government and all relevant authorities to ensure adequate funding, transparency, and the timely completion of this vital road project for the benefit of all stakeholders.
