A final-year student of Koforidua Senior High Technical School (KSTS), Apassa Isaac, has tragically passed away after reportedly leaving the school premises without authorization during the ongoing West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

According to reports from school sources, Isaac completed his English Language examination before allegedly departing the campus without permission and venturing into town.

Subsequently, he reportedly fell ill and was taken to a healthcare facility for treatment. Medical professionals diagnosed him with severe malaria; however, despite their efforts, he unfortunately succumbed to the illness.

School sources further indicate that Isaac had a history of disciplinary issues, including repeated instances of unauthorized absences from campus. He was previously characterized as a student with persistent attendance and behavioral challenges.

The school’s Disciplinary Committee had reportedly summoned his parents on several occasions to discuss his conduct, but it is alleged that they did not attend these meetings.

Additionally, it is reported that he initially missed the WASSCE registration deadline due to absenteeism, and was subsequently registered after penalties were paid.

His parents are said to have since arrived to take custody of his remains for burial arrangements.
