The concerned residents and citizens of the Ayimagonu electoral area in the North Tongu District embarked on a peaceful demonstration to register their displeasure and draw the attention of the government and relevant authorities to the deplorable state of roads within the communities.
The Abotia – Fodzoku road has deteriorated drastically over the years, making transportation extremely difficult for residents, farmers, traders, students, health workers, and other road users.
The poor nature of the road has negatively affected economic activities and access to healthcare, education, and the general well-being of the people within and across the electoral area.
CUE:
The Assembly member of the Ayimagonu electoral area, Honorable Abu addressing the media, said, several letters have been written to the District Assembly and other authorities but little or no action has been taken to rehabilitate the road.
He added that, the continued use of the road by heavy – duty trucks belonging to the C.I.B Company Ghana Limited is further worsening the already deplorable condition of the road and increasing the suffering of the residents.

The Chief of the community, Torgbe Korku Mensah also spoke to the media, he said, due to the above challenges, they demand from the appropriate authorities especially the DCE, Hon. Victoria Amefadze, and Honorable Ablakwa including the management of the C.I.B Company to immediately halt the trucks from using the road and also rehabilitate the poor roads for smooth transportation.
