On June 1, the Foreign Affairs Minister, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, announced this development, urging Ghanaian business leaders to assist in creating additional opportunities for the affected citizens.

“We call upon Ghanaian CEOs and entrepreneurs to support our jobs initiative for our brothers and sisters being evacuated from South Africa,” he stated, noting that “120 job offers have already been secured.”

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has indicated that Ghanaian employers interested in hiring the returnees should contact its Delivery Unit, which is spearheading the employment support program under the supervision of Ambassador Alexander Grant Ntrakwa.

This initiative forms part of the measures to assist evacuated Ghanaians in resettling within the country and securing employment upon their return.
